Some California courts continue to require that certain documents be physically delivered to the courthouse even after electronic filing. One Legal’s Court Delivery service allows you to send printed materials directly to a judge, department, or clerk’s office quickly and reliably.
There are two delivery types available:
- Courtesy Copy Delivery (CCD) – for printed copies of eFiled documents sent to a judge or department.
- Other Court Delivery – for any other item that must be hand-delivered to the court.
Courtesy Copy Delivery
A courtesy copy (sometimes called a chambers copy or judge’s copy) is a printed version of an electronically filed document.
Choose this option when you need to:
- Deliver a printed copy of an eFiled document to a specific judge, department, or courtroom.
- Include proof of eFiling, such as a court transaction number or confirmation sheet.
- Apply special printing or assembly instructions (e.g., single-sided printing, tabbed exhibits).
Deliveries begin immediately after order submission, not after the filing is accepted by the court.
Other Court Delivery
Select Other Court Delivery for any delivery to court that is not a courtesy copy or a filing.
Typical uses include:
- Delivering a check or payment to the clerk’s office
- Lodging documents or exhibit binders for a hearing
- Delivering correspondence or materials for a judge or department
This option is for deliveries only. If you need a filing handled in person, use One Legal’s Physical Filing service.
If a request falls outside standard pricing, One Legal will contact you before proceeding to confirm details and cost.
Service Levels and Pricing
Both delivery types offer the same service levels:
- Standard: Typically delivered the next business day (longer for some rural courts).
- Urgent: Delivered the same day if placed before the local cutoff, or the following morning if after hours.
Pricing varies by court zone, page count, and urgency. All costs are shown on the Order Review page before submission. For current details, visit onelegal.com/pricing.
