You can use One Legal’s Court Delivery service to deliver documents or materials directly to a California courthouse even when they are not part of an eFiling order.
This is useful when you need to send a courtesy copy after filing, or to deliver other materials that must be taken to court by hand.
When to Use a Stand-Alone Court Delivery
Place a stand-alone court delivery order when:
- You forgot to add a courtesy copy during your eFiling and need to send it separately.
- The court or judge requires physical copies after an eFiling has been completed.
- You need to deliver other materials to the court, such as:
- A check or payment for filing fees
- Lodged documents or exhibit binders
- Correspondence or materials for a judge or department
This service is for deliveries only. If you need a physical filing handled, use One Legal’s Physical Filing service instead.
How to Place the Order
- From your One Legal dashboard, select Delivery → Court Delivery.
- Choose the Court where the delivery should be made.
- Complete the Case Information fields if applicable.
- Under Order Type, select one of the following:
- Courtesy Copy Delivery (CCD): For printed copies of eFiled documents sent to a judge or department.
- Other Court Delivery: For any other delivery to court that is not a filing or courtesy copy.
- Upload your document(s).
- Choose your Service Level (Standard or Urgent).
- Enter the Delivery Location (judge, department, or room number) and any Special Instructions (e.g., “print single-sided,” “deliver to window 102”).
- Review your order. The cost appears on the Order Review page before submission.
- Submit your order.
Pricing and Confirmation
- Pricing is based on the court zone, page count, and urgency.
- All prices are displayed before checkout.
- For Other Court Delivery requests that require special handling or are outside standard pricing, One Legal will contact you to confirm details before proceeding.
After submission, the order can be tracked under Orders → Details, where status updates show Received, In Progress, and Complete. A Confirmation of Delivery Report will be available once the delivery is complete, showing the delivery time, date, and location (with photo evidence when permitted).
