How do I schedule a motion? (Civil)
Motions must be scheduled using the court's Court Reservation System, where you can select your preferred dates.
How can I eFile confidential or under seal documents?
LASC only allows some case initiations to be filed under seal. After you have selected your case type, you will only receive a prompt to file under seal if it is available for that case type. LASC does not allow any eFilings under seal for subsequent filings and information regarding this can be found on their exempt documents list (see above).
Note: Each court has its own individual policy regarding eFiling documents and One Legal cannot guarantee documents will be sealed by the Court, even if you follow all instructions properly.
What ZIP code should I enter in my case initiation?
When initiating a case in Los Angeles Civil case types, the court requires a ZIP code to indicate the filing location.
Step 1: Check Step 4 of your completed Civil Cover Addendum for the relevant ZIP code.
Step 2: Go to http://www.lacourt.org/filinglocatornet/ui/filingsearch.aspx?CT=CI
Step 3: Enter the ZIP code and click Search
Step 4: Find the Court Location and case type that applies to the Complaint case type.
Step 5: Select this court location when starting your eFiling.
Note: Make sure to indicate the same court's address on the caption pages or the clerk will reject them.
